About the Pioneer AVH-A240DAB
From our tech experts at CEN
A 6.2-inch double-DIN head unit with DAB radio, a disc mechanism, replacing the factory stereo.
Who it suits
Drivers who want reliable Bluetooth, USB and radio without a large screen — older vehicles, work vans and classics where a modern display would look wrong. The disc mechanism still matters to plenty of people, and fewer units offer it every year.
Our tech experts advise
The unit is the straightforward part. A vehicle-specific facia kit, a wiring harness and usually a steering wheel control interface decide whether the finished job looks factory or aftermarket, and those parts differ by model, year and trim. We confirm exactly what your vehicle needs before ordering — get in touch. See car stereo installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this stereo fit my car?
A: Most vehicles need a fascia panel, wiring harness and sometimes a steering wheel control interface to fit a new stereo. Contact CEN with your make, model and year and we will confirm the exact installation kit needed, or browse our Connects 2 installation kits.
Q: Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
A: Yes, in almost all cases. A steering wheel control interface retains your existing buttons with the new stereo. Parts are sold separately.
Q: Does this stereo support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: Check the Specification tab, which lists smartphone connectivity for each model including whether CarPlay and Android Auto are wired or wireless on that unit.
Q: What is the difference between single DIN and double DIN?
A: DIN refers to the chassis size. Single DIN units are the traditional slim format, while double DIN units are twice the height and typically carry a touchscreen. Your vehicle's dash aperture and fascia kit determine which fits.
Q: Can CEN supply and fit the stereo?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional supply and installation from our Nottingham premises, including fascia, wiring and steering control integration. Contact us for a fitted price.
Q: Does the Pioneer AVH-A240DAB have a CD and DVD player?
A: Yes. The AVH-A240DAB is a double DIN unit with a built-in CD/DVD player (DVD region code 2), and it also plays audio and video files from USB.
Q: Does the AVH-A240DAB support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: No. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not listed for the AVH-A240DAB. It connects to a compatible iPhone or Android phone with a USB cable for smartphone mirroring through the WebLink app, and has Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming.
Q: What screen does the AVH-A240DAB have?
A: It has a 6.2 inch Clear Type resistive touchscreen. It also has a built-in DAB/DAB+ digital radio tuner.
