The Phoenix Gold ZXT8D2 is an 8-inch slimline subwoofer from the ZX Series, rated at 150W RMS (250W max) with dual 2-ohm voice coils. It is designed for small sealed enclosures of 5 to 16 litres.
The ZX Series is also available as a 10-inch slimline subwoofer (ZXT10D4, 350W RMS).

ZXT8D2 250W Max Power 8″ Slim Subwoofer
The ZXT8D2 is a slimline subwoofer built to deliver strong bass in compact sealed enclosures where space is limited.
The fibreglass cone is lightweight and rigid, paired with a butyl rubber surround for warmer, deeper bass. A polycotton spider and oxygen-free copper (OFC) voice coil further refine performance in tight installations.
The ZXT8D2 is designed to pair with the ZXT8PR passive radiator, with the two working together to produce powerful, great-sounding enclosures in minimal space.

Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?
A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?
A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.
