Upgrade your vehicle’s sound system with the JL Audio C6-653, a 6.5-inch (165 mm) three-way component speaker system engineered for exceptional fidelity and dynamic performance. Derived from the same engineering principles used in JL Audio’s flagship speaker designs, the Evolution C6 Series combines advanced acoustic design with premium materials to deliver accurate and powerful sound reproduction.
The system includes 6.5″ mineral-filled polypropylene woofers, dedicated midrange drivers and 1″ silk dome tweeters, each optimised to reproduce a specific frequency range for improved clarity and realism. The silk dome tweeters provide smooth, detailed high-frequency reproduction with excellent off-axis response, while the midrange drivers ensure accurate vocal and instrument reproduction.
Premium external passive crossover networks are included and built using high-quality components such as polyester film capacitors and air-core inductors. These crossovers offer multiple tweeter and midrange level adjustments, allowing installers to fine-tune the system to suit the vehicle’s acoustics and speaker placement.
With 100 W RMS power handling, recommended amplifier power of 25–150 W per channel and a wide frequency response of approximately 53 Hz – 21 kHz, the JL Audio C6-653 delivers powerful, detailed sound when paired with a quality amplifier and source unit.
PREMIUM AUDIO QUALITY
Pairing a full-frame 6.5-inch woofer with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, the C6 series offers advanced sound technology for an exceptional car audio listening experience. When purchased as a component system, premium passive crossover networks are included with the speakers.
DMA-OPTIMISED WOOFERS
Proprietary motor, suspension and cone modelling systems are employed, resulting in reduced distortion, improved transient performance and stellar sound quality. The woofer’s center cap is designed to optimise its high-frequency response for seamless tweeter transition.
SILK DOME TWEETERS
An edge-driven pure silk dome tweeter design, when paired with the C6 woofer, produces sparkling detail with excellent off-axis response and damping for balanced coverage in your listening environment. An automatic, solid-state tweeter protection circuit minimises the possibility of tweeter failure.
PASSIVE CROSSOVER NETWORKS
Included with each C6 component system, these premium filter networks offer 4 levels of tweeter adjustment. The 3-way component system includes an additional 4 levels of midrange adjustment. All incorporate polyester film and electrolytic capacitors as well as low-loss air-core inductors — all accessible beneath a protective polycarbonate cover.

Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
