At the core of the K17 R2R is a proprietary 5 + 24-bit resistor ladder (R2R) DAC. It supports both NOS (non-oversampling) and OS (oversampling) modes, switchable according to preference and source material.
Amplification and power output
A discrete Class AB headphone amplifier stage delivers 4000mW per channel balanced. This is intended to drive a wide range of headphones, from in-ear monitors to demanding planar designs, while maintaining control and dynamic range.
Connectivity and streaming
The K17 R2R supports local playback alongside wireless and wired streaming. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Gigabit Ethernet and QPlay, enabling network-based audio playback within a home setup. FiiO K17 R2R sound customisation
A 31-band parametric equaliser with Auto EQ functionality is included. Settings can be configured via the FiiO Control app or a web browser, with profiles stored on the device.
Design and features
The K17 R2R includes a USB ground loop isolator to reduce noise from digital sources and a 35W low-noise linear power supply. The front panel features a 3.93-inch touchscreen giving access to playback controls, settings and VU meter displays. An aluminium infrared remote control is supplied.
The K17 R2R works as a standalone headphone amplifier or as part of a wider HiFi system, offering flexibility for different listening setups.
