A master of all trades

The BTR17 brings together FiiO's expertise in DACs and headphone amplifiers. In a compact form factor it includes flagship-level features such as a multi-stage audio architecture and a precision power supply system.

Qualcomm QCC5181 Bluetooth chip: lossless over Bluetooth

The BTR17 uses Qualcomm's flagship QCC5181 Bluetooth chip, which complies with the Bluetooth LE Audio standard, has a transmission bandwidth capacity of 2.1Mbps and is capable of lossless quality within the aptX Adaptive system. This allows CD-level lossless sound quality over Bluetooth, bringing you closer to the detail in your music.

The BTR17 also supports Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC and aptX Adaptive 96kHz/24bit codecs, combined with Snapdragon Sound technology for high-quality Bluetooth listening.

Patented desktop mode: independent power supply, boosted performance

The BTR17 has a dedicated D.Mode (desktop mode) switch and a port for an external independent power supply. In desktop mode, when used as a dongle DAC and headphone amplifier with a phone, the BTR17 can be powered entirely via USB. This avoids overcharging or over-discharging the built-in battery and delivers powerful audio output without draining the connected phone's battery.

Covering all uses: one switch for multiple modes

A PC/BT/PHONE three-position switch lets the BTR17 switch seamlessly between operating modes. Each mode optimises the power supply configuration for the connected device, making the BTR17 suitable for a wide variety of listening situations.

About the FiiO BTR17

From our tech experts at CEN

The FiiO BTR17 is a portable Bluetooth receiver, USB DAC and headphone amplifier in black, built around dual ES9069Q DACs and a Qualcomm QCC5181 Bluetooth 5.4 chip. It offers 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced outputs, up to 650mW + 650mW balanced in desktop mode, and USB DAC support to 768kHz/32bit including DSD512 native and MQA full decoding.

Who it suits

The BTR17 suits listeners who switch between a phone via Bluetooth and a computer via USB, with codec support including LDAC, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive. Those wanting a desk-only unit may prefer the FiiO K7.

Our tech experts advise

Engage the D.Mode switch at your desk so the BTR17 draws power from USB rather than the battery, protecting it from unnecessary charge cycles. The three-position PC/BT/PHONE switch handles source changes without extra configuration. Battery life is around 8 hours on LDAC; charging takes under 2 hours. A leatherette case and short dual Type-C OTG cable are included. See the full FiiO range for alternatives.
