3.69 6x9"/150x230 mm Woofer
The basket is made from ABS reinforced with fibreglass, keeping the structure rigid under load while allowing air to move freely and reducing back-pressure.
The cone is pressed paper with a waterproof treatment. Paper cones are well regarded for their low weight, natural stiffness, and ability to damp unwanted resonance without colouring the sound.
The surround uses a high-damping single-wave design made from Perbunan® rubber, which holds its properties across a wider temperature range than standard rubber — better suited to real-world installation conditions.
The 25 mm voice coil uses an aluminium former wound with a double layer of copper wire around an aluminium core. This keeps moving mass low while maintaining electrical efficiency.
A Y-35 ferrite magnet drives the assembly, delivering stronger magnetic flux than standard ferrite units for improved motor control and lower distortion at higher excursion levels. If you need a complementary component speaker system, the ESB HB1.6K2X 2-way component speaker system is also available from ESB Audio.

About the ESB Audio 3.69
From our tech experts at CEN
The ESB 3.69 is a pair of 6x9 inch (150 x 230mm) woofers from ESB's Tremila Series, sold without tweeters. Each handles 120w RMS and 240w maximum at 4 ohm, with 91.5 dB sensitivity and a 55 Hz to 9 kHz range. It uses a fibre-reinforced paper cone, a Perbunan rubber surround and a Y-35 ferrite magnet.
Who it suits
Cars and vans with factory 6x9 openings, where a component front stage needs more bass than a round 6.5 inch can give. Pair it with a Tremila tweeter such as the 3.28 through a crossover.
Our tech experts advise
Overall dimensions are 165 x 230 x 71mm, so check the depth behind your 6x9 opening. Run it from an amplifier with a low-pass to the tweeter. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
Q: What size is the ESB 3.69?
A: It is a 6x9 inch (150 x 230 mm) woofer, sold as a pair.
Q: Does the ESB 3.69 need a separate tweeter?
A: The 3.69 is a component woofer with a 55 Hz to 9 kHz response, so it is designed to be used with a separate tweeter or wide range driver in a component system.
Q: What is the power rating of the ESB 3.69?
A: 120W RMS with 240W maximum power, at a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, with a sensitivity of 91.5 dB (2.83V/1m).
