About the Edge ED6G-E9
From our tech experts at CEN
The Edge ED6G-E9 is a pair of 6.5 inch (165mm) steel mesh grilles with ABS mounting rings. Edge designs them to fit any of its 6.5 inch round speakers, including the pro audio midranges.
Who it suits
Owners of Edge 6.5 inch pro midranges such as the EDBXPRO6-E2 or EDSPRO6-E4 who want to protect the cones in doors, kick panels or pods. Pro audio cones are light and easy to damage, so a grille is worth fitting. For 8 inch speakers choose the ED8G-E9.
Our tech experts advise
Fit the ABS ring first, then the grille, and make sure there is clearance in front of the cone and any centre tweeter. The steel mesh lets sound through with very little loss. Check that door trims close properly before you finish the install. These grilles are made for Edge speakers, so check sizing carefully if you plan to use them on another brand.
