Key specifications
- Thickness: 7 mm
- Sheet size: 480 × 320 mm
- Pack contents: 10 sheets
- Layers: 100-micron aluminium foil, 2 mm heavy sound insulation membrane, 5 mm mastic with foamed granules, adhesive
- Sheet weight: 1.06 kg
- Surface weight: 6.90 kg/m²
- Adhesion strength: 13 N/cm
- Acoustic loss factor (MLF): 0.56
Aerospace Galaxy combines a vibro-acoustic mastic with foamed granules, a 2 mm sound insulation membrane and 100-micron aluminium foil with a matte finish. In a single layer it reduces both vibrations and noise transmission, achieving an acoustic loss factor (MLF) of 0.56. It also reduces resonances and improves rigidity on large body panels.
Its surface weight of 6.90 kg/m² saves 30–40% compared to traditional two-layer applications — a meaningful advantage when soundproofing electric and sports cars. With 13 N/cm adhesion strength it holds firm in demanding conditions.
Galaxy is ideal for floors and rear wheel arches, and well-suited to doors where strong acoustic improvement is needed in a single layer. For a complete door upgrade bundle, see the Comfort Mat Door Kit Essential 3-in-1.

About the Comfort Mat AEROSPACE GALAXY 7
From our tech experts at CEN
The Comfort Mat Aerospace Galaxy is a 7 mm multi-layer vibro-acoustic deadening mat, sold in packs of 10 sheets (480 × 320 mm each). Its construction — 100-micron aluminium foil, a 2 mm heavy sound insulation membrane and 5 mm mastic with foamed granules — achieves an acoustic loss factor (MLF) of 0.56 in a single layer. At 6.90 kg/m² surface weight, it saves 30–40% compared with traditional two-layer applications.
Who it suits
Galaxy suits drivers wanting strong acoustic improvement without the weight penalty of two-layer treatments — particularly useful in electric and sports cars. It is designed for floors, rear wheel arches and doors. For a complete door upgrade, see the Comfort Mat Door Kit Essential 3-in-1.
Our tech experts advise
Each pack of 10 sheets covers approximately 1.54 m², so measure your area before ordering. Prepare a clean, dry surface; the 13 N/cm adhesion bonds firmly once the sheet is pressed flat. For an even thicker option, the Extreme Pro Max 8mm steps up to 8 mm. Professional fitting is priced per vehicle — see our Nottingham installation page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much sound deadening do I need for my car?
A: As a guide, a pair of front doors takes around 1 to 1.5 square metres, and a full car between 4 and 6 square metres depending on coverage. The sheet coverage for this product is listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?
A: Doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and speaker performance, followed by the boot floor and wheel arches. Even a doors-only install noticeably tightens speaker bass.
Q: Is sound deadening difficult to fit myself?
A: It is one of the more DIY-friendly upgrades: panels are cut to shape, peeled and rolled firmly onto clean metal. A roller tool and panel removal tools make the job much easier, or CEN can carry out installation from our Nottingham premises.
Q: Will sound deadening improve my audio system?
A: Yes. Deadening the doors reduces panel resonance so speakers produce cleaner, tighter bass, and lowering road noise means you hear more detail at normal volumes.
Q: How much area does a pack of Comfort Mat Pulsar cover?
A: Each sheet measures 500 x 320 mm (0.16 square metres), so the pack of 15 sheets covers about 2.4 square metres.
Q: Do I need another layer on top of Pulsar?
A: Pulsar is designed to be used as a single layer. It combines anti-vibration damping and sound insulation in one 5 mm sheet, made up of a 100 micron foil, 5 mm mastic with foamed granules and an adhesive layer.
Q: Where can Comfort Mat Pulsar be fitted?
A: It is suited to doors, roof, bonnet, boot lid, boot and the floor under the rear seats, typically areas with medium to high vibration and noise loads.
