About the Blaupunkt Frankfurt
From our tech experts at CEN
The Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo is a 1-DIN car radio styled after the 1970s original, featuring a 3-inch TFT colour display, DAB+ and FM reception via the Blaupunkt Codem IV tuner, Bluetooth Twin Connect, USB-A, USB-C and a 3.5mm AUX input. Output is 4x 75W at 2 ohms, supported by a 4-channel pre-amp output, sub-out and a 2x 14-band equaliser.
Who it suits
This unit suits anyone who wants a period-correct dashboard look with up-to-date connectivity, particularly owners of classic and vintage cars. The pinstripe front, chrome frame and rotary controls give genuine retro character. For the same styling with an added SD card slot, consider the Frankfurt RCM 82.
Our tech experts advise
The Frankfurt Stereo supports both axle (shaft) mounting and standard 1-DIN slots; all necessary hardware is included in the box. Its short installation depth helps in dashboards with limited space behind the head unit. Bluetooth Twin Connect allows two phones to be paired at once. Fitting is priced per vehicle — see our car audio installation page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this stereo fit my car?
A: Most vehicles need a fascia panel, wiring harness and sometimes a steering wheel control interface to fit a new stereo. Contact CEN with your make, model and year and we will confirm the exact installation kit needed, or browse our Connects 2 installation kits.
Q: Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
A: Yes, in almost all cases. A steering wheel control interface retains your existing buttons with the new stereo. Parts are sold separately.
Q: Does this stereo support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: Check the Specification tab, which lists smartphone connectivity for each model including whether CarPlay and Android Auto are wired or wireless on that unit.
Q: What is the difference between single DIN and double DIN?
A: DIN refers to the chassis size. Single DIN units are the traditional slim format, while double DIN units are twice the height and typically carry a touchscreen. Your vehicle's dash aperture and fascia kit determine which fits.
Q: Can CEN supply and fit the stereo?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional supply and installation from our Nottingham premises, including fascia, wiring and steering control integration. Contact us for a fitted price.
Q: Will the Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo fit a classic car without a DIN slot?
A: Yes. It is built to the classic dimensions of 1970s dashboard radios and supports various installation options with or without a DIN slot. Mounting materials for axle (shaft) mounting and a 1-DIN ISO slot are included.
Q: Does the Frankfurt Stereo have DAB radio?
A: Yes. It uses Blaupunkt's Codem IV high-end tuner with DAB+ and FM, including radiotext, traffic function, an alphabetical DAB station list and seamless service following.
Q: Can I add an amplifier or subwoofer to the Frankfurt Stereo?
A: Yes. It has a 4-channel pre-amp output plus a sub out for external amplifiers, alongside its built-in 4x 50W (4x 75W at 2 ohms) output.
