About the Anker SOLIX C300X AC + Car Charging Cable

From our tech experts at CEN

This bundle pairs the Anker SOLIX C300X AC (model A1723211), a 288Wh LiFePO4 power station rated at 300W continuous and 600W with SurgePad, with the Anker SOLIX Car Charging Cable A17U5 — a 3m, 16AWG cable from a vehicle's 12V socket to the unit's XT-60 input. The station has seven outlets and a 5-year warranty.

Who it suits

Campers, road-trippers and van-lifers who need mains-style power away from home and want to top up the station while they drive. Buying the cable with the unit avoids a separate order. For more capacity, step up to the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2.

Our tech experts advise

Car charging via the A17U5 is rated at 120W but only works while the engine runs — treat it as a top-up rather than your primary source. Wall charging reaches 100% in 70 minutes, and solar input via XT60 accepts up to 100W. Check appliance wattages: SurgePad handles up to 600W, so a kettle is beyond it. See the full Anker range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What can this power station actually run?

A: Compare the output wattage in the Specification tab with the wattage of what you want to run. As a guide, phones and lights draw very little, a cool box or TV a moderate amount, and heaters or kettles need the largest units.

Q: Can I take a portable power station camping or in a campervan?

A: Yes, that is exactly what they are designed for: silent, fume-free power for lighting, devices, fridges and equipment wherever you are, with no fuel or servicing.

Q: What does the car charging cable do?

A: It connects your vehicle's 12V accessory socket to the C300X AC's XT-60 input, so the power station recharges while you drive. Charging from a car socket is slower than mains charging, so it is best for topping up on longer journeys.

Q: Should I leave it charging with the engine off?

A: No. Only charge from the car socket with the engine running, so you do not drain the vehicle's starter battery.

Q: Can I still charge from the mains and solar?

A: Yes. The C300X AC also recharges from a wall socket and from compatible solar panels, which are listed in the Specification tab and stocked by CEN.
