World's First Head Unit With Built-in Class-D Amplifier
Alongside the Alpine Halo11 and Halo9, the iLX-705D is among the world's first aftermarket head units with a built-in 4 x 50 W Class-D amplifier, delivering high-end sound reproduction with reduced noise and phase shift.
Class-D amplification runs at around 90% efficiency, compared to 50–70% for Class AB. Internal high-speed fans and heat sinks keep the unit cool during use.

About the Alpine ILX-705D
From our tech experts at CEN
A 7-inch head unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB radio, replacing the factory stereo.
Who it suits
Drivers whose factory stereo is the weakest part of the car, where the jump to smartphone integration is enormous.
Our tech experts advise
The unit is the easy part. A vehicle-specific facia kit, a wiring harness and usually a steering wheel control interface decide whether the finished job looks factory or aftermarket, and those parts differ by model, year and trim. We confirm exactly what your vehicle needs before ordering — get in touch. See car stereo installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this stereo fit my car?
A: Most vehicles need a fascia panel, wiring harness and sometimes a steering wheel control interface to fit a new stereo. Contact CEN with your make, model and year and we will confirm the exact installation kit needed, or browse our Connects 2 installation kits.
Q: Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
A: Yes, in almost all cases. A steering wheel control interface retains your existing buttons with the new stereo. Parts are sold separately.
Q: Does this stereo support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: Check the Specification tab, which lists smartphone connectivity for each model including whether CarPlay and Android Auto are wired or wireless on that unit.
Q: What is the difference between single DIN and double DIN?
A: DIN refers to the chassis size. Single DIN units are the traditional slim format, while double DIN units are twice the height and typically carry a touchscreen. Your vehicle's dash aperture and fascia kit determine which fits.
Q: Can CEN supply and fit the stereo?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional supply and installation from our Nottingham premises, including fascia, wiring and steering control integration. Contact us for a fitted price.
Q: Does the Alpine iLX-705D have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
A: Apple CarPlay is wireless, so your iPhone can stay in your pocket. Android Auto is supported via a wired USB connection.
Q: What size and resolution is the iLX-705D screen?
A: It has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a WXGA 1280 x 720 display, and the display angle can be adjusted after installation.
Q: Can I connect cameras and an external amplifier to the iLX-705D?
A: Yes. It supports two camera connections with adjustable distance guides (it does not support the KCX-C250MC camera switch box), and has three 4 V pre-outs for front, rear and subwoofer, alongside its built-in 4 x 50 W Class-D amplifier.
