The 4-inch midrange driver uses an aluminium cone for tight midbass and accurate midrange reproduction. The 1-inch silk dome tweeter produces smooth, refined high frequencies without harshness. A dedicated 2-way crossover at 3300Hz (12dB/Oct) keeps each driver in its optimal range and ensures seamless integration with the vehicle.
Smart bass blocker function
In BMWs with the factory Basic Sound System, the underseat woofers and door speakers share the same signal. This forces the small 4-inch door speakers to reproduce deep bass they were not designed for, causing distortion and muddy sound.
The ZDBMW4CS includes an integrated bass blocker that filters frequencies below 120Hz (-12dB/Oct). This prevents unwanted bass from reaching the midrange drivers, letting them play louder and more clearly, while the underseat woofers handle the low end properly for a balanced, distortion-free result.
