C1-650 6.5-inch (165 mm) 2-way component speaker system
2-way component system: 6.5-inch (165 mm) woofer with 0.75-inch (19 mm) aluminium dome tweeter.
C1 speakers deliver solid audio performance in a format built for easy installation behind factory grilles. Multi-application adaptor rings are included for the C1-650 woofers, allowing drop-in fitment in vehicles with oversized 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch speaker openings. Without the ring, the woofers will also fit many standard "6-inch" locations. Surface and flush mounts are included with the tweeters for maximum installation flexibility.
Woofer
C1 woofer drivers are developed using proprietary FEA modelling and JL Audio's expertise in low-frequency driver design, enabling high output with low distortion and a smooth, dynamic sound.
The C1-650 is built around a proprietary stamped steel 6.50-inch (165 mm) frame and a DMA-optimised motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-moulded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround and a flat Conex® spider at the top of the voice coil to control movement precisely. Tinsel leads are routed and attached to the spider to prevent fatigue and buzzing.
Tweeter
The edge-driven aluminium dome tweeter delivers high-frequency clarity and definition, with inherently strong off-axis response. It uses a silk surround suspension, Ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, and a neodymium magnet circuit.
An in-line, outboard 2nd order high-pass filter with Advanced Tweeter Protection Circuitry is included to improve smoothness and power handling.
