Hertz Dieci Power DP 1.500 (1 channel, 590W)

The DP 1.500 is a compact mono Class-D amplifier built for subwoofer duty. ADC (Advanced Class-D) technology delivers 2Ω stable output in a small enclosure, making it a practical choice where boot or under-seat space is tight.

Build quality details include a status LED, solid machined terminal block and a removable top panel that protects the controls and connections.

The amplifier accepts both Pre-In (0.32 to 8 Vrms) and Speaker-In (1.6 to 40 Vrms) signals, with balanced input circuitry on both for high noise rejection. An integrated Universal Speaker Simulator ensures compatibility across a wide range of source units, including factory OEM radios.

Controls include adjustable input levels, a low-pass crossover filter (50 to 250 Hz at 24 dB/octave), a subsonic filter (25 Hz at 24 dB/octave) and a bass boost of 0 to 9 dB at 50 Hz. Full-range pre-outs are available regardless of whether Pre-In or Speaker-In is used, giving further flexibility for system expansion.

Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off is triggered by OEM radio speaker outputs, removing the need for a dedicated remote turn-on wire from the head unit.

The DP 1.500 is compatible with the optional HRC 02 remote level control, allowing subwoofer output to be adjusted from the listening position. The Dieci Power range also includes the Hertz Dieci DP 4.300 4-channel stereo amplifier for those looking to upgrade the full system.

About the Hertz DP 1.500

From our tech experts at CEN

A monoblock amplifier for subwoofer duty from the Hertz Dieci line, rated at 500w RMS. Everything it makes goes to the bass.

Who it suits

Anyone adding a subwoofer that needs real power behind it.

Our tech experts advise

Power figures mean little until the amplifier is matched to the speakers and the gains are set with a meter rather than by ear. It needs a fused feed from the battery on the correct cable gauge. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?

A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.

Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?

A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.

Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?

A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.

Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?

A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.

Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.

Q: How much power does the Hertz DP 1.500 deliver?

A: It delivers 500W RMS at 2 ohms and 280W RMS at 4 ohms (1% THD). At 14.4V and 10% THD it reaches 590W at 2 ohms and 350W at 4 ohms. The minimum load impedance is 2 ohms.

Q: Can the DP 1.500 connect to a factory radio without RCA outputs?

A: Yes. It has balanced Speaker-In inputs that accept 1.6 to 40 Vrms, and it switches on and off automatically from the OEM radio's speaker outputs.

Q: Is a remote bass control available for the Hertz DP 1.500?

A: Yes. The amplifier is ready for the optional Hertz HRC 02 remote control, which adjusts the subwoofer level from -20 to +6 dB.
