The Focal PS165F3E is a 6.5 inch 3-way component speaker system from the Flax Evo Expert Series, rated at 80W RMS. It combines a flax cone woofer, 3 inch midrange and an aluminium/magnesium inverted dome tweeter.

The sound of flax
Focal found that a flax cone woofer produces a dynamic, accurate sound. At half the weight of fibreglass, flax fibres create a rigid yet lightweight cone that limits unwanted vibrations.
Tuned mass damper
Focal's patented surround uses "tuned mass damper" technology — the same principle used to stabilise earthquake-resistant skyscrapers. Greater control of the woofer cone means smoother, more natural sound.
Power handling
The PS165F3E combines 6.5 inch flax woofers, 3 inch midrange speakers and Focal's M-profile inverted dome tweeters. The inverted dome design mimics woofer-style sound dispersion, spreading high frequencies widely for a natural soundstage. The aluminium frame provides a rigid, non-resonant platform for all three drivers.
These speakers handle up to 80W RMS. Pairing them with an amplifier will get the best from their dynamic range. If you'd prefer a simpler setup, the Focal 165 AS3 is a 3-way 6.5 inch component set at the same power rating from Focal's more accessible Access Series.
