About the Edge ED8G-E9
From our tech experts at CEN
The Edge ED8G-E9 is a pair of 8 inch (200mm) steel mesh grilles with ABS mounting rings. Edge designs them to fit any of its 8 inch round speakers, including the 8 inch pro audio midranges.
Who it suits
Owners of Edge 8 inch pro midranges such as the EDBXPRO8-E4 or EDSPRO8-E3 who want to protect the cones in doors, pods or boot builds. For 6.5 inch speakers choose the ED6G-E9.
Our tech experts advise
Fit the ABS ring first, then the grille, and check there is clearance in front of the cone at full excursion. Pro audio midranges move a lot of air and have light cones, so a grille saves an expensive repair. The steel mesh passes sound with very little loss. These grilles are made for Edge speakers, so measure carefully before using them on another brand. Get in touch for advice.
