Dodo's best-selling Thermo Liner is now available in an improved Version 3. The flexible closed cell elastomeric foam has been upgraded with better thermal performance, combining low thermal conductivity with high water vapour diffusion resistance. The self-adhesive surface is rougher for improved grip on metal panels, and the release paper is stronger and easier to remove.
- Improved thermal performance
- Stronger adhesive
- Easier to install
Dodo Thermo Liner is a high grade foil lined nitrile closed cell foam suitable for van sides, floors, roofs and more. Designed for the UK vehicle market, it improves comfort in camper vans, van conversions, Land Rovers and vehicle restorations. The self-adhesive fit helps regulate cabin temperature and reduces road noise, resulting in a less tiring drive and cleaner audio reproduction.
Please note that foams of 12–15mm thickness will often require additional spray adhesive when bending around tight curves, ridges and corners.
For a complete van insulation system, pair with Dodo Mat DEADN Hex sound deadening sheets applied to bare metal panels before fitting Thermo Liner. Also available in a 5mm version (DEAD-EZY Liner) for lighter applications.

About the Dodo Mat DOD-THERMO-12-5
From our tech experts at CEN
Acoustic absorbing foam, for soaking up the reflections a hard-surfaced vehicle interior creates, 12mm from Dodo Mat.
Who it suits
Van and camper conversions, and anywhere road and wind noise is the problem rather than panel resonance. Foam and butyl do different jobs and work best together.
Our tech experts advise
Coverage matters more than thickness: treat the outer skin behind the speaker first, then the inner. It is messy, fiddly work inside a door, which is why we normally do it as part of an install rather than sell it as a weekend job. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much sound deadening do I need for my car?
A: As a guide, a pair of front doors takes around 1 to 1.5 square metres, and a full car between 4 and 6 square metres depending on coverage. The sheet coverage for this product is listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?
A: Doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and speaker performance, followed by the boot floor and wheel arches. Even a doors-only install noticeably tightens speaker bass.
Q: Is sound deadening difficult to fit myself?
A: It is one of the more DIY-friendly upgrades: panels are cut to shape, peeled and rolled firmly onto clean metal. A roller tool and panel removal tools make the job much easier, or CEN can carry out installation from our Nottingham premises.
Q: Will sound deadening improve my audio system?
A: Yes. Deadening the doors reduces panel resonance so speakers produce cleaner, tighter bass, and lowering road noise means you hear more detail at normal volumes.
Q: Will Dodo Thermo Liner V3 stick around curves without extra glue?
A: It is self-adhesive, but thicker foams of 12-15mm will often need an additional stronger spray adhesive when bending and shaping around tight curves, ridges and corners.
Q: Does Thermo Liner help with condensation in a van?
A: Yes. The moisture resistant closed cell foam has high water vapour diffusion resistance and helps reduce condensation, while acting as a barrier against heat loss.
