Dodo DEAD-EZY Insulation 5mm 10m roll

A single 10m roll covers 5 sq m — enough for the roof and sides of a typical car, small van or 4x4. Larger vans such as the VW Transporter and Ford Transit Custom will require 2–3 rolls.

DEAD-EZY is a self-adhesive liner combining an aluminium foil vapour barrier with soft closed cell foam. It flexes easily to follow the curves and contours of a van interior, making it straightforward to fit on the sides, floor and roof without specialist tools.

The DEAD-EZY range is designed to offer genuine value while meeting Dodo Mat's UK quality standards. It controls temperature and condensation — keeping the cabin warmer in winter and cooler in summer — and reduces road noise for a quieter, more comfortable drive or campervan experience. For best results, apply a dedicated sound deadening layer such as Dodo Mat DEADN Hex to the bare metal before fitting DEAD-EZY.

About the Dodo Mat DOD-EZ-INSULATE-10M

From our tech experts at CEN

Butyl sound deadening matting, for damping panels that resonate, 5mm from Dodo Mat.

Who it suits

Awkward areas where sheet material will not go — wheel arches, cavities and complex panels.

Our tech experts advise

Coverage matters more than thickness: treat the outer skin behind the speaker first, then the inner. It is messy, fiddly work inside a door, which is why we normally do it as part of an install rather than sell it as a weekend job. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much sound deadening do I need for my car?

A: As a guide, a pair of front doors takes around 1 to 1.5 square metres, and a full car between 4 and 6 square metres depending on coverage. The sheet coverage for this product is listed in the Specification tab.

Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?

A: Doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and speaker performance, followed by the boot floor and wheel arches. Even a doors-only install noticeably tightens speaker bass.

Q: Is sound deadening difficult to fit myself?

A: It is one of the more DIY-friendly upgrades: panels are cut to shape, peeled and rolled firmly onto clean metal. A roller tool and panel removal tools make the job much easier, or CEN can carry out installation from our Nottingham premises.

Q: Will sound deadening improve my audio system?

A: Yes. Deadening the doors reduces panel resonance so speakers produce cleaner, tighter bass, and lowering road noise means you hear more detail at normal volumes.

Q: How many rolls of Dodo DEAD-EZY Insulation do I need for my van?

A: One 5 square metre roll is ideal for the roof and sides of a typical car, small van or 4x4. Larger vans such as the VW Transporter and Ford Transit Custom will need 2 to 3 rolls.

Q: Does DEAD-EZY Insulation help with condensation?

A: Yes. It uses moisture-resistant closed cell foam with a reflective foil vapour barrier, which reduces condensation and acts as a barrier against heat loss.

Q: What size is a roll of DEAD-EZY Insulation?

A: Each roll is 5mm thick and measures 0.5m x 10m, covering 5 square metres.
