The Audison Prima APS 10 S4S is a 10-inch (250mm) shallow subwoofer driver from the Audison Prima range, rated at 400W continuous (800W peak) with a single 4 ohm voice coil. It has a 120mm ultra-low mounting profile and is supplied with a steel mesh grille.

Audison Prima
The APS 10 S4S is optimised for sealed enclosures from 10 litres. The single 4 ohm voice coil configuration makes it well suited to the AP F8.9 bit amplifier, which delivers 260W RMS with two channels bridged. Two APS 10 S4S units can also be used with the AP 1D amplifier, connected in parallel to present a 2 ohm load and draw 540W RMS.
- Ultra-low profile (120mm / 4.7 inch) for maximum installation flexibility.
- Designed for maximum performance in a sealed enclosure from 10 litres.
- Cone, dust cap and basket geometry engineered for 11mm one-way linear excursion while keeping mounting depth to a minimum.
- Air vents on the basket beneath the spider eliminate the need for a central pole vent, allowing mounting close to the rear wall of the enclosure.
- Motor assembly optimised using FEM (Finite Element Modelling) for control under high power and high excursion conditions.
- Water-repellent treated paper cone, profiled using FEM simulation and validated with the Klippel Scan Vibrometer.
- Single voice coil designed to pair with the AP F8.9 bit amplifier, making use of its bass boost and integrated parametric equaliser DSP.
- Steel mesh grille and plastic gasket included.

Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?
A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?
A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.
