The Audison Prima APK 165 2 ohm is a 6.5" (165mm) 2-way component speaker kit from the Audison Prima range, rated at 100W continuous / 300W peak with a 2 ohm impedance. The kit includes AP 6.5 2 ohm woofers, AP 1 tweeters, and separate APCX WF 2 ohm and APCX TW 2 ohm crossovers.

Audison Prima is designed for enthusiasts who want OEM system integration without sacrificing sound quality or space. The APK 165 2 ohm features separate crossovers for the woofer and tweeter to simplify installation.
- 2 ohm impedance, designed to fully exploit the 65W per channel at 2 ohm of the AP8.9-bit amplifier.
- 75Hz resonance frequency, extending the frequency range down to 50Hz and increasing SPL in the low range.
- 25mm voice coil maximising efficiency at 95dB.
- 10mm winding height voice coil for maximum linear excursion up to 2.8mm and minimal distortion at high listening levels.
- APCX WF 2 ohm dedicated woofer crossover with low-loss voice coils, shaping the frequency response for an optimal match with the tweeter.
- APCX TW 2 ohm tweeter crossover with Hi-Contour function to enhance high frequencies and achieve the correct timbre balance with the woofer's low-frequency output.
- AP 1 tweeter with acoustic lens, balancing frequency response in the 10kHz–13kHz range and optimising acoustic emission in OEM placements where a factory grille is present.
- Connection cable integrated into the passive crossover, terminated with fast-on connectors. Differently shaped terminations at each pole prevent incorrect connections and speed up installation.
- AP 6.5 2 ohm woofer with water-repellent treated paper cone, developed using FEM simulation technology and optimised with Klippel Scan Vibrometer.
- Reduced mounting depth for ease of installation in OEM placements.
- TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) surround with "triple wave" profile for maximum excursion linearity.
- Compact basket with abrasion-resistant, scratch-proof coating and damping epoxy glue for coupling with the motor system.
- High-current fast-on terminal with double contact on positive and negative poles and a temperature-resistant plastic cover to protect against accidental short circuits.

Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.

Q: Why is the APK 165 a 2 ohm speaker?
A: The 2 ohm impedance lets it take full advantage of amplifiers that deliver more power into 2 ohms, such as the Audison AP8.9 bit with 65W per channel at 2 ohms. Check that your amplifier is 2 ohm stable before connecting it.
Q: Does the APK 165 2 ohm come with crossovers?
A: Yes. It has separate APCX WF 2 ohm woofer crossovers, with a low ESR inductor, and APCX TW 2 ohm tweeter crossovers with the Hi-Contour function. The crossover cut-off is 4.5/5kHz and the tweeter level can be set to 0dB or +2dB.
