Alpine R-Series amps: born to be played loud
The Alpine R-Series range of speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers is built around serious sound quality, and the R-Series amplifiers are no exception. Tuned to complement R-Series speakers and subwoofers, they deliver that characteristic R-Series performance. Compared to previous R-Series models, they have a 15% smaller footprint and are easier to install.
The R2-A150M is built for drivers who want big, clean bass. It cleanly reproduces low frequencies even when playing High-Res audio, using high-efficiency transformers, premium low-noise custom capacitors, and low-distortion dual "Sierra" feedback/correction circuitry. Advanced Class D technology keeps the unit compact enough to fit almost anywhere in the vehicle.
You can dial in the sound using the adjustable low-pass filter, bass boost and subsonic filter. The optional Alpine RUX-KNOB2 remote bass knob lets you control subwoofer level from the dash. R-Series amplifiers are available in two mono and a 4-channel configuration.
Simplified installation
All speaker connections are consolidated on one side of the amplifier for easy access. Gain and crossover controls sit on top of the unit under a removable plate. Mounting brackets are integrated directly into the chassis, removing the need for separate hardware.
Perfect power match for multiple R-Series subs
The R2-A150M is matched to the power handling of two 10" or 12" R-Series subwoofers, or four 8" R-Series subwoofers (1200W at 2 ohms). One amp can drive a full multi-sub system without additional hardware.
Extensive tuning options
The variable low-pass filter (50–400Hz), subsonic filter (8–40Hz) and bass boost allow precise control over bass output and system protection. Controls are accessed via the top-mounted removable plate for quick, clean adjustments after installation.
Remote bass knob ready
Connect the optional RUX-KNOB2 to adjust subwoofer level directly from your dashboard.

About the Alpine R2-A150M
From our tech experts at CEN
A monoblock amplifier built for subwoofer duty, Class D, rated at 1500w RMS. One channel, all of it going to the bass.
Who it suits
Anyone adding a subwoofer that needs more than a head unit or a compact powered unit can give it. Amplification is also what turns a van or camper system from loud into clear.
Our tech experts advise
Power ratings only mean something when the amplifier is matched to the speakers and the gains are set with a meter rather than by ear. It needs a properly fused feed from the battery on the right gauge cable, which is the part we see done badly most often. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs and what the work involves. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?
A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.
Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?
A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.
Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?
A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.
Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?
A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.
Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.
Q: How much power does the Alpine R2-A150M deliver?
A: At 14.4V it delivers 1 x 1500W RMS into 1 ohm, 1 x 1200W RMS into 2 ohms and 1 x 700W RMS into 4 ohms, with a total max power of 2300W.
Q: How many Alpine R-Series subwoofers can the R2-A150M run?
A: It is designed to match the power handling of two 10 inch or 12 inch R-Series subwoofers, or four 8 inch R-Series subwoofers, at 1200W into 2 ohms.
Q: Can I control the bass level from the driver's seat?
A: Yes. The R2-A150M is ready for the optional Alpine RUX-KNOB2 remote bass knob, which lets you adjust the subwoofer level from the dash.
