The Helix Next DSP Ultra XT has arrived: a 16-channel standalone processor that now sits at the very top of Helix's DSP range, built for no-compromise active systems. In stock at CEN for £1,899.
The new Helix flagship
The DSP Ultra XT is aimed at builds where every driver in the car gets its own processed, amplified channel — fully active three-way front stages, rear fill and multiple subwoofers, managed from one unit on Helix's ACO processing platform, with USB PerfectStream for direct digital playback.
Built for real cars, not just show cars
The spec that matters for modern vehicles is the 12-channel high-level input. Factory systems increasingly split their signal across many channels with factory EQ baked in; the Ultra XT is designed to accept all of it and reconstruct a clean full-range signal to process properly — the foundation of a serious upgrade that keeps the factory head unit and controls.
Our take
This is the processor we'd specify for a flagship build — the channel count and input flexibility mean the system design is never limited by the DSP. If you're earlier in the journey, our new DSP explainer covers what processing actually does; if you're ready for this level, talk to us about system design, because the tune matters as much as the hardware.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need 16 channels?
Only for serious active multi-way builds — but the point of the Ultra XT is headroom: fully active three-way front, rear fill and subwoofers with channels to spare, all processed in one unit.
Will it work with a factory head unit?
Yes — the 12-channel high-level input is designed to take signal from standard and premium factory systems and rebuild it cleanly.
Can CEN design and tune a system around it?
Yes — system design, installation and measured tuning from our Nottingham premises. A processor at this level deserves a proper calibration.
