The Morel IR ME INT 42 is a Reference-level 4 inch (100mm) 2-way point-source coaxial speaker set designed to fit modern Mercedes models without modification. It features a concentrically mounted 1.1" (28mm) Acuflex silk dome tweeter, a hybrid EVC motor, DirectFit brackets, and factory wire connections. It is part of Morel's Hybrid Integra speaker series.

Part of Morel's Reference level, this point-source system is designed to raise the bar for sound performance in Mercedes vehicles. The unique 4 inch (100mm) chassis, supplied DirectFit mounting brackets, and factory wire connections allow the IR ME INT 42 to fit modern Mercedes models with no modification required.
The IR ME INT 42 is based on Morel's Hybrid Integra speaker series. Each 4 inch point-source unit uses a 2.1" (54mm) voice coil and a powerful hybrid EVC motor, delivering high power handling and tight cone control. The concentrically mounted tweeter uses Morel's proprietary 1.1" (28mm) Acuflex silk dome with a dual neodymium magnet motor. The result is a high-performance plug-and-play speaker system.
What is 'point source'?
In a conventional coaxial design, the tweeter sits an inch or more above the base of the woofer cone. Sound from each driver reaches your ears at different times, causing phase issues and unpredictable frequency response around the crossover point. Coaxial systems without a low-pass filter on the woofer make this worse.
The point-source design places the tweeter at the base of the woofer cone so sound radiates from both sources simultaneously. The result is smooth, natural frequency response through the crossover region.
