C1 Series 5.25" (130 mm) coaxial speaker system
This is the updated C1-525x, featuring an improved tweeter grille. The system pairs a 5.25" (130 mm) woofer with a 0.75" (19 mm) aluminium dome tweeter in a coaxial configuration.
C1 woofer drivers use proprietary FEA modelling and JL Audio's low-frequency driver expertise to deliver loud, smooth, low-distortion sound. The C1-525x is built around a stamped steel 5.25" (130 mm) frame and a DMA-optimised motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-moulded polypropylene cone sits in a rubber surround, with a flat Conex® spider at the top of the voice coil to control motion and prevent voice coil-to-back-plate contact. Tinsel leads are carefully routed and attached to the spider to prevent fatigue and buzzing.
The edge-driven aluminium dome tweeter delivers strong high-frequency clarity and off-axis response. It uses a silk surround suspension, Ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, and a neodymium magnet circuit. A 2nd order high-pass filter improves smoothness and power handling.
