The Hertz S8 DSP is an ultra-compact, weatherproof 8-channel digital sound processor from Hertz's S-Series range. It processes audio at Hi-Res 96 kHz / 24-bit, accepts 6 analogue inputs plus a coaxial SPDIF input, and is controlled via PC, Mac, iOS or Android — including over Bluetooth 5.0.

The S8 DSP is designed to integrate any OEM source into a car, motorcycle or boat audio upgrade. Its corrosion-free case is cast in metal and composite materials, and the anti-corrosion-treated PCB makes it suitable for open-air and marine use.

The 32-bit ADAU1451 DSP handles 6 high/low-level analogue input channels, one digital coaxial input and 8 output channels. Each output channel has a level control, 15-band parametric EQ, time delays and crossover filter. The 7-band parametric EQ on the input signal corrects the boosted low-frequency response common in OEM head units. The SPDIF coaxial input allows direct digital connection to a Hi-Res player for maximum audio quality.

The S8 DSP processes at 96 kHz / 24-bit native resolution and holds Hi-Res certification from the JAS (Japan Audio Society).
Bluetooth 5.0
Setup files can be uploaded wirelessly via the Bluetooth 5.0 app in Configurator or DRC mode. Music streaming is not supported.
App control
The S8 DSP is configurable from a PC, Mac, Android or iOS device. The iOS and Android apps also provide DRC (Digital Remote Control) functions over Bluetooth 5.0.
USS
The built-in USS (Universal Speakers Simulator) allows the S8 DSP to work correctly with head units that use speaker load detection — units that monitor for a low-impedance load before enabling their audio outputs.
Ultra compact
All connections are grouped on one side of the unit, making it straightforward to mount in tight or awkward spaces on cars, motorcycles and boats.
