Hertz CPK 690 Pro
The CPK 690 is part of the Cento Pro line and uses an elliptical woofer to suit 6x9 door locations — common in North American-market vehicles including Toyota and Ford group models. The pressed-paper cone is chosen for its linearity and control at high power levels. The large emission area of the CP 690 extends bass response down to 35 Hz. All electroacoustic parameters are optimised for door installation, with an uprated magnetic assembly and voice coil for improved power handling and a lower resonance frequency.
CP 25
- Soft Tetolon® fibre 29 mm (1.14 in.) dome with 25 mm (1 in.) ferrofluid-cooled voice coil for natural, detailed reproduction.
- "Centre Tuning Duct" geometry lowers resonance frequency and reduces harmonic distortion.
- Neodymium magnet with high-density magnetic flux, optimised for control during high-energy dynamic transients in the mid-high frequency range.
- Rear chamber filled with selected damping material for low resonance and a natural midrange with a low crossover frequency.
- Faceplate geometry optimised using FEM (Finite Element Modelling) for linear off-axis frequency response.
- Wide range of accessories for easy integration in OEM locations.
CP 690
- Pressed-paper cone with FEM-optimised geometry, combining rigidity and lightness for accurate sound reproduction.
- 30 mm (1.2 in.) double-layer voice coil sized to maximise excursion and power handling.
- High-density flux ferrite magnet with low-carbon polar plates for reduced distortion at high power levels.
- Compact three-spoke basket acoustically combined with a rubber magnet cover to damp spurious vibrations.
CPCX 690
- Tweeter level adjustable via a three-position switch (-2, 0, +2 dB) for user-adjustable tonal balance.
- Crossover frequency at 3.1 kHz with a 12 dB/oct. slope on the tweeter and 6 dB/oct. on the woofer.
- 160 V metallic-finish capacitors using high-quality polyester film with ultra-low DF value, and low-resistance pure copper inductances for maximum sound transparency.
- Compact metallic-finish design with air vents for efficient heat dissipation.

About the Hertz CPK 690
From our tech experts at CEN
Hertz Cento series 6x9 inch component set, with separate tweeters that can be mounted higher where you will actually hear them, rated at 120w RMS.
Who it suits
Drivers who want a proper front stage and are happy for tweeters to be mounted separately, which usually means a professional fit. Component sets are where a car system starts sounding like a hi-fi rather than louder.
Our tech experts advise
Sizes, adapter rings and harnesses vary by vehicle, year and trim, so we confirm what your car takes before ordering rather than guessing. Door treatment matters as much as the speaker itself, and an amplifier will get far more out of these than a head unit can. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
Q: What speaker location does the Hertz CPK 690 Pro need?
A: It is designed for 6x9 inch elliptical door locations. Contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm whether your vehicle has a 6x9 location and what fitting parts you need.
Q: What is included with the CPK 690 Pro?
A: The kit includes CP 690 woofers, CP 25 tweeters, CPCX crossover networks, tweeter flush mount clamps, angled surface mount housings, woofer grilles, screws, large and small speed clips, an owner's manual and templates on the box.
Q: Can the CPK 690 Pro tweeter level be adjusted?
A: Yes. The CPCX 690 crossover has a three-position tweeter level switch (-2, 0, +2 dB). It crosses over at 3.1 kHz with a 12 dB/oct tweeter slope and 6 dB/oct woofer slope.
