Hertz CX 130

130 mm (5 in.) | 2-way coaxial | 150W peak | 4 ohm

Coaxial speakers present a real engineering challenge — the acoustic output is critical and the OEM mounting position is rarely ideal. The Hertz R&D team addressed this directly with the Cento CX 130. It features a 24 mm Tetolon® dome tweeter that delivers a more musical, detailed sound than traditional plastic-dome units, with dispersion optimised for off-axis listening. The SPP-M (Semi Pressed Paper-Mica) woofer cone balances lightness with strong damping characteristics. If you need a 6.5 inch coaxial option, the Hertz Dieci DCX 165.3 is worth considering.

  • Soft Tetolon® fibre 24 mm (0.9 in.) dome tweeter cooled with ferrofluid, for extended, natural high frequencies.
  • RHFC™ (Rotary High Frequency Contour) tweeter is angled and directable towards the listener for an accurate frequency response in any installation.
  • Tweeter faceplate geometry optimised using FEM (Finite Element Modelling) simulations for a highly linear off-axis frequency response.
  • 25 mm (1 in.) woofer voice coil with aluminium former for high excursion and power handling.
  • 130 mm (5 in.) SPP-M cone enhanced with mica powder for an excellent balance between lightness and damping.
  • High-density flux ferrite magnet with low-carbon polar plates reduces distortion at high power levels.
  • Compact three-spoke basket acoustically combined with a rubber magnet cover to damp spurious vibrations.
  • Optional grille available: ABS plastic structure with metallic finish and protective metal mesh.

About the Hertz CX 130

From our tech experts at CEN

Hertz Cento series 5.25 inch coaxial pair, with the tweeter in the centre of the woofer, rated at 50w RMS.

Who it suits

Drivers replacing tired factory speakers who want a clear improvement without complication.

Our tech experts advise

Sizes, adapter rings and harnesses vary by vehicle, year and trim, so we confirm what your car takes before ordering rather than guessing. Door treatment matters as much as the speaker itself, and an amplifier will get far more out of these than a head unit can. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these speakers fit my car?

A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.

Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?

A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.

Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?

A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.

Q: Do these come as a pair?

A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.

Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.

Q: What size are the Hertz Cento CX 130 speakers?

A: They are 130 mm (13 cm) two-way coaxial speakers, listed by Hertz as 5 inch. Check the mounting depth and fixing pattern in your doors, or ask CEN to confirm fitment for your vehicle.

Q: Are grilles included with the CX 130?

A: No. Hertz offers a grille with an ABS plastic frame, metallic finish and protective metal mesh as an optional extra.

Q: What tweeter does the CX 130 use?

A: A 24 mm (0.9 in.) Tetolon fibre dome tweeter cooled with ferrofluid, mounted on a directable RHFC pivot so it can be angled towards the listener.
