Dodo DEAD-EZY Liner 5mm
DEAD-EZY products are designed to cover the key aspects of van and car building — straightforward to install, good value, and built to Dodo Mat's UK quality standards.
DEAD-EZY Liner is Dodo Mat's entry-level 5mm self-adhesive flexible foam liner. It is intended for use over sound deadening — such as the Dodo Mat DEADN Hex — to provide thermal insulation and acoustic absorption in a low-profile 5mm layer. The closed cell foam formulation is unique to Dodo Mat.
Once installed, DEAD-EZY Liner acts as a thermal barrier to help stabilise cabin temperatures throughout the year.
The liner holds its shape under pressure, trims easily to fit awkward areas, and is water resistant, high-temperature resistant, and flame retardant to vehicle safety standard FMVSS302.

About the Dodo Mat DOD-EZ-LINER5
From our tech experts at CEN
Butyl sound deadening matting, for damping panels that resonate, 5mm from Dodo Mat.
Who it suits
Anyone fitting speakers who wants to hear what they paid for, and anyone quietening a van, camper or older car. A treated door is the cheapest upgrade in car audio, because it stops the panel flexing and gives the speaker something solid to work against.
Our tech experts advise
Coverage matters more than thickness: treat the outer skin behind the speaker first, then the inner. It is messy, fiddly work inside a door, which is why we normally do it as part of an install rather than sell it as a weekend job. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much sound deadening do I need for my car?
A: As a guide, a pair of front doors takes around 1 to 1.5 square metres, and a full car between 4 and 6 square metres depending on coverage. The sheet coverage for this product is listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?
A: Doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and speaker performance, followed by the boot floor and wheel arches. Even a doors-only install noticeably tightens speaker bass.
Q: Is sound deadening difficult to fit myself?
A: It is one of the more DIY-friendly upgrades: panels are cut to shape, peeled and rolled firmly onto clean metal. A roller tool and panel removal tools make the job much easier, or CEN can carry out installation from our Nottingham premises.
Q: Will sound deadening improve my audio system?
A: Yes. Deadening the doors reduces panel resonance so speakers produce cleaner, tighter bass, and lowering road noise means you hear more detail at normal volumes.
Q: Should DEAD-EZY Liner go on before or after sound deadening?
A: After. DEAD-EZY Liner is designed to be applied over sound deadening, where it acts as a thermal and acoustic insulation layer.
Q: How much does one roll of DEAD-EZY Liner cover?
A: One 5m roll measures 500cm x 50cm and covers 2.5 sq.m (26.9 sq.ft) at 5mm thick.
Q: Is DEAD-EZY Liner waterproof and heat resistant?
A: It is a water resistant closed cell foam rated from -40°C to +100°C, and it has been flammability tested for vehicle interiors to FMVSS302.
