About the QED Performance Optical Graphite

The Performance Optical Graphite is QED's multi-award winning Toslink digital audio cable. It uses a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) acrylic glass optical fibre to transmit the higher bandwidth signals required by today's multi-channel digital audio links. The cable is optimised for a very low jitter design to reduce digital errors, producing cleaner audio data transmission. Use it to connect a TV, CD player, Blu-ray™ player or games console to an AV amplifier, receiver or DAC.

This optical fibre delivers half the signal attenuation per metre of the previous Performance model, allowing the Performance Graphite to comfortably handle higher bandwidth signals for multi-channel audio. For HD multi-channel audio applications over 12MHz, QED recommend the Reference Optical Quartz cable.

Very low jitter design

QED identify jitter — distortions caused by errors in light transmission — as a major factor in audio signal deterioration. Precision cladding techniques reduce jitter, enabling a cleaner signal with better dynamics and a wider soundstage.
