Kicker 47KEYLOC Smart 2 Channel Line Output Converter with Automotive DSP Tuning
Couldn't Load Pickup availability
The Kicker 47KEYLOC is a DSP-controlled 2-channel line output converter from Kicker's KEY range. It analyses and corrects factory head unit signals, delivering a clean 10V RMS output per channel for aftermarket amplifiers — ideal for vehicles retaining a factory stereo.
Key specifications
- Channels: 2-channel line output converter with DSP correction
- Output: 10V RMS per channel (1 kHz at 14.4V, 1% THD+N or less)
- Input sensitivity: low level 125 mV to 10V (60 ohm smart radio load), high level 1V to 40V
- Frequency response: 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- Signal-to-noise ratio: greater than 100 dB, A-weighted
- Dimensions (L x H x W): 14 x 3.5 x 7.1 cm
47KEYLOC Smart Line-Out Converter
This DSP-controlled line output converter automatically detects the frequency response and phase of your factory stereo, then integrates it cleanly into an aftermarket setup. It pairs well with Kicker's own amplifiers, such as the Kicker KEY200.4 4-channel smart amplifier with DSP.
Signal restoration
Kicker's patent-pending KEY algorithm automatically detects and analyses the crossovers, EQ, time delay and all-pass filters present in your factory system, then level-matches the left and right channels. It corrects these filters to produce the smoothest frequency response possible, giving a clean, uncoloured audio signal to your aftermarket gear.
Hear it yourself
Press the KEY button to toggle EQ correction on and off and compare the difference directly. If the KEYLOC detects all-pass filters or factory time delay, you can choose to defeat the correction via the menu and preserve the factory source unit's imaging. Keeping the correction active counteracts these factory effects, letting an external processor dial in a single-seat tune.
Find the frequency
Factory audio systems don't always deliver a full-range signal on every speaker wire, which complicates aftermarket amplifier integration.
Connect the factory speaker wire to the KEYLOC input and play Kicker's recommended test tones. The KEYLOC's LEDs then show which frequencies are present on that speaker wire pair: Low (20–200 Hz), Mid (200 Hz–2 kHz), or High (2–20 kHz).
It's FIT
Using Kicker's FIT 2+ (Fail-safe Integration Technology), the KEYLOC accepts a wide range of input signals: 125 mV–10V low level with a 60 ohm smart load, or 1V–40V high level. This makes it compatible with virtually every vehicle on the road today.

About the Kicker 47KEYLOC
From our tech experts at CEN
A line output converter, taking speaker-level signal from a factory stereo and turning it into a clean RCA signal an aftermarket amplifier can use.
Who it suits
Drivers who want to add an amplifier or subwoofer while keeping the factory head unit, which is most modern cars where the stereo is integrated into the dashboard and cannot simply be swapped.
Our tech experts advise
Factory systems vary enormously: some have amplified outputs, some use fibre-optic audio, some need the signal summed from several channels. We check what your vehicle actually outputs before specifying. get in touch. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the Kicker KEYLOC do that a basic line output converter doesn't?
A: As well as converting speaker-level signals to line level, KEYLOC uses DSP to detect and correct factory crossovers, EQ, time delay and all-pass filters, and level-matches left and right, so your aftermarket amplifier receives a flat, clean signal.
Q: Will the KEYLOC work with high-power factory amplifiers?
A: Its high-level input accepts 1V to 40V, and the low-level input accepts 125 mV to 10V with a 60 ohm smart load, so it suits most factory head units and factory amplifiers.
Q: How many channels does the 47KEYLOC have?
A: It is a 2-channel unit, with up to 10V RMS output per channel.
