Sound system for the VW ID. Buzz (1st generation) | DSP power amplifier + subwoofer

The V1 already delivers significantly greater volume, clarity and control using the original VW speakers. The OPTION DSP-6.2 amplifies the music signal and specifically tunes time alignment, equalisation and frequency distribution to the VW ID. Buzz and its factory-fitted speakers.

The additional OPTION ROCK-5 enhances the sound with a more powerful, deeper and fuller bass. The compact 20-cm subwoofer is concealed in the cavity beneath the front passenger seat and fires downwards. This allows the bass to be distributed evenly throughout the vehicle without compromising boot space or usable storage space.

The V1 is ideal if you don’t want to replace the speakers straight away. The vehicle-specific setup is already stored in the power amplifier and configured for the original front and rear speakers. The speakers can still be replaced with OPTION speakers at a later date.

The vehicle-specific T-cable set is connected to the radio unit and transmits both the music signal and the power supply. This means there is no need to run a separate power cable to the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?

A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.

Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?

A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.

Q: What does RMS power mean?

A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.

Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?

A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.

Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?

A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.
