AV 6.5 P II Woofer | 300 W Peak Power | 165 mm (6.5 in.) | 4 ohm

The Audison VOCE II AV 6.5 P II woofer is engineered to deliver exceptional sound clarity and precision. It naturally rolls off at off-axis positions, eliminating the need for a low-pass filter in most door installations and reducing phase shifts common with other filters.

It can employ a gentle 6 dB/Octave filter to enhance low and mid-bass tones, further enriching sound quality. The woofer’s OEM-style connector, compatible with FASTON terminals and designed for seamless integration, features a unique T-shaped pole piece with an aluminum ring to minimize distortion and enhance frequency response.

  • 1.6 in. (40 mm) CCAW Voice Coil (Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire): Maximizes excursion capability and heat dissipation, allowing the driver to handle 150W RMS power, delivering powerful bass without dynamic compression, even at high listening volumes.
  • Low Inductance Design: Optimizes upper midrange (2-3 kHz) reproduction, improving the clarity of vocals and instruments, thanks to an aluminum shorting ring built-in the motor.
  • Oversized Magnetic Assembly: Provides exceptional thermal stability, ensuring optimal dynamic reserve in any listening condition.
  • FEM optimized Magnetic Circuit Geometry: Maximizes efficiency by concentrating the magnetic field on the coil for more precise, dynamic sound.
  • Semi-pressed Pulp Cone with Cotton Fibers: Combines rigidity and lightness for a wide frequency response and clean reproduction, even in midrange frequencies.
  • Die-Cast Aluminum Basket with magnet cover: Enhances heat dissipation and reduces turbulent airflows, ensuring maximum rigidity and high performance over time, even during prolonged use.
  • High Excursion Butyl Rubber Surround and Optimized Spider: Uses advanced simulations to ensure greater linearity and cone control, reducing distortion during intense excursions.
  • Installation Flexibility: Equipped with OEM-style and Faston connectors, offering maximum installation versatility. Includes two provided adhesive
  • Audison logo badges, allowing for personalized placement to enhance branding and aesthetics.
  • Optional Black or Silver Mesh Metal Grille: Provides robust protection without compromising acoustic performance, adding a touch of elegance to the installation for perfect cabin integration.
  • eID Technology: Ensures product traceability from production to the final owner, guaranteeing authenticity and security.

Give Sound Its True Voice

Audison Voce II, the second generation of our iconic VOCE speakers, challenged us—to rethink how we design, test, and manufacture speakers. We’ve revamped materials, supply chains, assembly techniques, and packaging. Our goal was to “unlearn” to innovate and to “reinforce our expertise” where we knew we were on the right track. This dedication ensures that every aspect of VOCE II not only meets but exceeds the sophisticated demands of today’s car audio enthusiasts.
Luca Girotti, Audison Technical Director

AV 6.5 II mid-bass

AV 6.5 II delivers uncompromised power and control in reproducing bass and mid frequencies. Designed to handle up to 150W RMS, this woofer is perfect for those seeking an extended frequency response with powerful dynamics free of distortion.

Powerful motor for better performance

AV 6.5 P II features powerful magnetic motors, known for releasing large amounts of energy while maintaining exceptional thermal stability. The motor reveals a T-shaped pole piece incorporating an aluminum ring. This innovative addition minimizes distortion during high excursions and linearizes the frequency response for superior clarity and precision. The geometry of the magnetic assembly was optimized using FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation software, allowing the magnetic field to be concentrated in the voice coil, improving efficiency and the precision of the sound response. This allows the drivers to deliver dynamic, distortion-free sound, even during complex and rapid music variations.

Minimum Inductance for an extended frequency response

A key area of research focused on reducing voice coil inductance modulation. By magnetically saturating the motor pole and using a copper short-circuit ring for mid-range and an aluminum short-circuit ring for mid-bass, greater extension towards the midrange frequencies was achieved.

40 mm CCAW voice coil

With the powerful magnet and a 40 mm CCAW (copper-clad aluminum Wire) voice coil, the AV 6.5 P II guarantees linear response across the entire low- and mid-frequency spectrum. Its versatility allows it to work seamlessly with the DSP, optimizing sound performance in any condition, always ensuring natural and dynamic reproduction.

OEM and faston connectors for perfect integration

AV 6.5 II P is equipped with both an OEM-style automotive connector and traditional Faston connectors. This option allows the installer to choose the connection method best suited to the specific project’s needs. The availability of both connections simplifies and streamlines the installation process. Thanks to this feature, installers can work more efficiently without constraints, ensuring optimal results in both sound performance and vehicle integration. The dual connection option represents another step toward customization and adaptability, meeting the needs of every car audio enthusiast.

Die-Cast Aluminum Basket: Engineered for Optimal Aerodynamics

Aerodynamic efficiency was a primary goal for both components. The die-cast aluminum basket, with four pairs of spokes, was designed to provide a rigid structure while minimizing airflow resistance around the cone. This allows the cone to move freely, improving response and reducing unwanted resonances in the mid frequencies. Multiple holes prevent air compression under the spider, eliminating harmful resonances and further improving midrange clarity. Additionally, the opening ensures optimal decompression of the air column inside the voice coil.

Semi-Pressed Pulp Cone for Superior Sound Performance

The cone, made from semi-pressed pulp with cotton fibers, was selected by the R&D team for its excellent acoustic and mechanical properties. Its low density and high mechanical damping contribute to an exceptionally smooth frequency response in all listening positions, delivering natural and detailed sound reproduction. Using innovative finite element calculation methods, the research team obtain an extremely rigid structure. This design allows the cone’s vibration modes (the frequencies where the cone deforms, causing response irregularities) to be shifted towards higher frequencies, leaving the entire midrange free from distortion and irregularities.

FAQs
Q: Will these speakers fit my car?

A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.

Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?

A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.

Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?

A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.

Q: Do these come as a pair?

A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.

Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
